URGENT NEED
Harrison Ford Christi
Heartworm Treatment
Mr. Harrison Ford Christi came to us from
animal control in Corpus Christi with
heartworms.  Although he should be the
swashbuckling hero he's named after, this
Harrison Ford has a ways to go first.

He has to be treated with immiticide and kept
quite for 4-6 weeks.  Heartworm disease is
totally preventable with a small pill each
month, but because this pups owner didn't
care, we have to inject poison into him to kill
these worms.

The treatment is risky - but he cannot find a
home without it.

Heart with heartworms

No, this heart does not belong to this
sweet dog.  The heart above was
removed from a 9 pound dog that died
during treatment with another rescue.

It is here to show just how only a few
worms - around 10 - can almost totally
clog the dog's pulmonary artery.
